USA, i sette mesi fallimentari del presidente Biden

Il popolo americano ci ripensa: Joe Biden presidente da solo sette mesi non è l’uomo giusto al posto giusto.

La tragedia umanitaria che si sta consumando in Afghanistan è per ora l’ultima di una serie di errori che il popolo statunitense non perda al democratico Biden. In 7 mesi ne ha inanellate una dopo l’altra e la domanda ricorrente è, se l’inquilino della Casa Bianca prima di prendere decisioni importanti si confronta con i suoi consiglieri o fa tutto da solo. Subito dopo questo quesito se ne aggiunge un altro, che ha assillato la fascia di elettori indecisi durante la campagna elettorale presidenziale di novembre scorso e che pare oggi decisamente fondato: “il confuso Biden potrebbe essere adeguatamente indirizzato a sbagliare per arrivare all’impeachment e sostituirlo in breve tempo?”.

Noi che la politica americana la registriamo anche attraverso il vox populi, crediamo che questa ipotesi non sia proprio frutto di fantapolitica e il dibattito nel Paese in questi giorni si fonda soprattutto su queste domande.

I dati di gradimento, secondo un sondaggio di luglio, segnavano già un crollo di popolarità del presidente, dal 57% al 50% mentre l’ultimissimo di 3 giorni fa registrare un meno 4 punti percentuali a seguito della débâcle afghana. Oggi solo il 47% della popolazione si è espressa a favore di Biden. Il popolo non ha gradito l’umiliazione subita in Afghanistan, dove testardamente per 20 anni l’Occidente ha voluto portare i principi di una democrazia sconosciuta ai più, tanto che sono spariti in men che non si dica. A seguito del ritiro delle truppe americane, in una settimana i talebani hanno riconquistato il Paese sotto gli occhi attòniti di tutto il mondo mentre i soldati americani, quelli rimasti, venivano derisi, sbeffeggiati, umiliati  e all’occorrenza anche picchiati dai nuovi padroni dei territori riconquistati.

I cittadini si chiedono quale fiducia si possa dare al Commander in Chief che si è reso responsabile di tutto questo. A dar voce a chi ne chiede la rimozione è l’ex comandante delle forze militari britanniche in Afghanistan, il colonnello Richard Kemp, che  in una intervista alla Fox News ha invocato la corte marziale per il presidente Biden  per “aver umiliato sia l’esercito americano che i suoi cittadini”.

Il caso Afghanistan è “ last but not least” nell’elenco dei fallimenti di Biden, e la domanda rimane la stessa: “Biden è stato consigliato male e messo in condizione di sbagliare o come riportato da alcuni giornali, ha ignorato un rapporto dell’intelligence che prevedeva la débacle delle forze governative con la ritirata militare e quindi il caos nell’evacuazione dei civili?

Il quieto Biden è vittima o carnefice?

La storia darà risposte, ma certo è che la politica estera non è il suo forte, e non solo. Ricordate quando ha definito il presidente russo Vladimir Putin un killer? Una dichiarazione di guerra che portò al richiamo dell’ambasciatore russo in Washington. Anche in quell’occasione la domanda del mondo intero fu: “ Ma Biden ci fa o ci è?”.  Davanti alle dichiarazioni di guerra russe, l’incauto presidente dovette immediatamente fare marcia indietro proponendo al capo del Cremlino un incontro per ristabilire i rapporti diplomatici. I dubbiosi risultati positivi del faccia a faccia furono oggetto di una conferenza stampa americana durante la quale Biden sfogò il suo stress su una giornalista della CNN, Kaitlan Collins, che ebbe l’ardire di chiedergli come potesse avere fiducia in un uomo (Putin) che aveva definito pericoloso. Biden,dimenticando tutte le  accuse di aggressività rivolta a Trump in campagna elettorale, rispose minaccioso: ’Non te lo so dire, lo spero e basta e comunque se non lo capisci hai sbagliato lavoro”. E la stampa internazionale rimase zitta.

Politica estera, immigrazione illegale, fallimento nella gestione della pandemia e della campagna vaccinale, piano d’investimento plurimilionario per nuove infrastrutture che porta dritto all’aumento dell’inflazione del 5% (un debito che lasceremo ai nostri figli):  è  questa la lista scioccante dei fallimenti firmati Biden e che oggi fa tremare i polsi ai democratici, in vista delle elezioni di midterm del 2022.  Intanto l’ex presidente Donald Trump, che non ha mai smesso la sua campagna elettorale e oggi in tour per l’America a caccia di voti,  è protagonista di incontri affollatissimi con elettori pronti a sostenerlo per cambiare l’assetto politico della Camera dei Rappresentanti tra poco piu di un anno.

Le promesse disattese

Ma proviamo a fare un passo indietro, ricordando il programma politico di Biden che gli ha consentito di sconfiggere il presidente uscente Trump.

Partiamo da uno dei temi caldi che ha tenuto incollati milioni di americani alla tv durante i confronti tra i due sfidanti alla Casa Bianca: la migrazione clandestina. Biden aveva promesso “confini aperti” ai migranti provenienti dai paesi poveri del Sud e Centro America e la regolarizzazione degli illegali già presenti nel Paese. Un annuncio che, grazie al supporto della stampa favorevole e ben pagata, aveva fatto breccia in quella fascia elettorale che aveva creduto alle immagini e filmati falsi pubblicati come un mantra, che ritraevano donne e bambini nelle “gabbie” ai confini messicani, pronti ad essere rispediti nel loro Paese. Le grandi testate giornalistiche ogni giorno pubblicavano di bambini “strappati” ai loro genitori migranti clandestini. Scene da spaccare il cuore, causate dalle leggi ristrettive firmate dal presidente Trump che aveva, tra l’altro, stanziato milioni di dollari per costruire un muro ai confini con il Messico. Una campagna di disinformazione che dopo pochi mesi dall’insediamento alla Casa Bianca è diventata per il presidente democratico un boomerang. Difatti a giugno, quando l’esercito di migranti illegali ha fatto segnare oltre un milione di passaggi al confine messicano, la vice Kamala Harris è stata costretta a dichiarare ai migranti, durante la visita in Guatemala dell’8 giugno: «Non venite negli Stati Uniti, perché sarete rispediti indietro». Secondo i dati della polizia di frontiera in 7 mesi sono stati rimpatriati oltre 1 milione di persone, molto di più quanto fatto negli ultimi 4 anni.

E la promessa del “liberi tutti dal Covid dal 4 luglio”?  Un altro fallimento. Oggi gli Stati Uniti fanno i conti con la curva dei contagi, che sale senza precedenti complici il 44% di americani non vaccinati e la variante Delta, che ha imposto il ritorno di molte restrizioni in alcuni Stati come la California . Lo ricordiamo esattamente quando Biden ha parlato alla nazione ed ha assicurato la vittoria sul virus Covid-19 entro la giornata della festa dell’Indipendenza, era Maggio. Anche quella dichiarazione è stata un’imprudenza estemporanea?

Ipotesi di scenari futuri

Senza fare dietrologia rimaniamo dell’avviso che le ambizioni politiche di chi sta muovendo i fili nell’oscurità della Casa Bianca non contemplano pietà e Biden, candidato ideale perché metteva insieme tutte le anime del partito democratico, probabilmente è solo uno strumento per arrivare agli obiettivi previsti: sedere nella sala ovale la prima donna di colore, la vice presidente kamala Harris,  senza passare per le urne. Un progetto spesso scombinato dalle esternazioni del distratto presidente che, tra una pausa e un’altra, dimenticando di essere il presidente degli Stati Uniti, si comporta come un avventore da bar sportivo.

È solo fantasia la nostra ? Chissà,  “a pensar male si fa peccato ma spesso si indovina” (cit. Giulio Andreotti).

We, who also record American politics through the vox populi, believe that this hypothesis is not exactly the result of political fiction and the debate in the country these days is based above all on these questions.

According to a July poll, the approval data already marked a collapse in the president’s popularity, from 57% to 50%, while the very last 3 days recorded a minus 4 percentage points following the Afghan debacle.  Today only 47% of the population has come out in favor of Biden.  The people did not like the humiliation suffered in Afghanistan, where for 20 years the West stubbornly wanted to bring the principles of a democracy unknown to most, so much so that they disappeared in no time at all.  Following the withdrawal of American troops, in a week the Taliban recaptured the country under the astonished eyes of the whole world while the American soldiers, those who remained, were mocked, mocked, humiliated and if necessary even beaten by the new owners of the territories. win back.

Citizens are wondering what trust can be given to the Commander in Chief who is responsible for all this.  The voice of those asking for his removal is the former commander of the British military forces in Afghanistan, Colonel Richard Kemp, who in an interview with Fox News invoked a court-martial for President Biden for “humiliating both the military American than its citizens ”.

The Afghanistan case is “last but not the least” in Biden’s bankruptcy list, and the question remains the same: “Biden was badly advised and put in a position to be wrong or as reported by some newspapers, he ignored a report of the intelligence that foresaw the debacle of the government forces with the military retreat and therefore the chaos in the evacuation of civilians?

Is the quiet Biden victim or executioner?  History will give answers but it is certain that foreign policy is not its forte, and not only that.  Remember when you called Russian President Vladimir Putin a killer?  A declaration of war that led to the recall of the Russian ambassador to Washington.  Also on that occasion the question of the whole world was: “But is Biden doing us or is he?”  in the face of the Russian declarations of war, the reckless president had to immediately backtrack by proposing a meeting to re-establish diplomatic relations with the head of the Kremlin.  The dubious positive results of the face-to-face were the subject of an American press conference during which Biden vented his stress on a CNN reporter, Kaitlan Collins, who dared to ask him how he could trust a man (Putin) who he had called dangerous.  Biden, forgetting all the accusations of aggression directed at Trump in the electoral campaign, replied threateningly: “I can’t tell you, I just hope so and in any case if you don’t understand it, you’ve got the wrong job.”  And the international press remained silent.
Foreign policy, illegal immigration, failure to manage the pandemic and the vaccination campaign, a multi-million dollar investment plan for new infrastructure that leads straight to a 5% increase in inflation (a debt we will leave to our children): this is the list shocking of the failures signed Biden that today shakes the wrists of the Democrats, in view of the midterm elections of 2022. Meanwhile, the former President Donald Trump, who has never stopped his electoral campaign and today on tour for America hunting of votes, is the protagonist of crowded meetings with voters ready to support him to change the political structure of the House of Representatives in just over a year.
But let’s take a step back, remembering Biden’s political agenda that allowed him to defeat outgoing President Trump.  Let’s start with one of the hot topics that kept millions of Americans glued to the TV during the confrontations between the two challengers at the White House: illegal migration.  Biden had promised “open borders” to migrants from poor countries in South and Central America and the regularization of illegal immigrants already present in the country.  An announcement that, thanks to the support of the favorable and well-paid press, had made its way into that electoral band that had believed in the fake images and videos published as a mantra, which portrayed women and children in the “cages” on the Mexican borders, ready to be sent back to their country.  The big newspapers published every day about children “snatched” from their illegal migrant parents.  Heartbreaking scenes, caused by the restrictive laws signed by President Trump who had, among other things, allocated millions of dollars to build a wall on the border with Mexico.  A disinformation campaign that, a few months after taking office in the White House, has become a boomerang for the Democratic president.  In fact, in June, when the army of illegal migrants made more than a million crossings on the Mexican border, Deputy Kamala Harris was forced to declare to migrants, during her visit to Guatemala on June 8: “Do not come to the States United, because you will be sent back ».  According to data from the border police, over 1 million people were repatriated in 7 months, much more than in the last 4 years.

And the promise of “free everyone from Covid from 4 July”?  Another failure, today the United States is in fact dealing with the contagion curve that rises unprecedentedly, thanks to 44% of unvaccinated Americans and the Delta variant which has imposed the return of many restrictions in some states such as California.  We remember exactly when Biden spoke to the nation and assured victory over the Covid-19 virus by Independence Day.  Was that statement also imprudent imprudence?

Without doing conspiracy, we remain of the opinion that the political ambitions of those who are pulling the strings in the darkness of the White House do not contemplate pity and Biden, the ideal candidate because he brought together all the souls of the Democratic party, is probably just a tool to reach the goals. planned: to sit the first black woman in the oval room without going through the urns.  A project often upset by the utterances of the distracted president who, between one pause and another, forgetting that he is the president of the United States, behaves like a sports bar patron.
